Abstract

The main reasons and factors that stimulate various representatives of the ruling circles to use the mechanisms and tools of the coup d’etat in the conditions of the growing crisis and uncertainty of future social transformations are shown. The key role of informal coalitions of the ruling class in the initiation of these forms of power change is revealed. At the same time, epistemological difficulties are noted in identifying the concept of “coup d’etat”, its ability to proceed in latent forms based on the use of public tools and information cover.
